We do not have kittens DNA tested.

Their DNA is created from their parents' genes.

If their parents' DNA is clean, then theirs is too.

TICA registration papers are available for

an additional fee of $250.

   Our Adoption Process

If you are interested in purchasing a kitten, please complete our application (link is below).  No application fee is required, but we ask for serious applicants only who are ready to purchase within the next few months.

We have a Reserve List for individuals who want to be on a waiting list.  The individuals on the list will have the first opportunity to select and reserve a kitten.  There is a $250 non-refundable fee for this privilege.  This $250 WILL BE deducted from the cost of a kitten when purchased.  When kittens are born and are between 8 and 10 weeks, we will notify people on the Reserve List and give them the opportunity to select and reserve their kitten

When we announce planned breedings between a specific stud and queen, people may get on a Special Reserve List PRIOR to the breeding for $300 non-refundable fee, UNLESS the breeding fails.  In that event, the $300 will be refunded in full.

ALL FEES WILL BE APPLIED TO THE COST OF A KITTEN.

ADOPTION PROCESS:

Application is completed & reviewed

-  Upon acceptance, the applicant is notified

-  Applicant agrees to and signs the Purchase Contract.

A deposit of $300 is required to reserve your selected kitten and must be received within one week of the signed Purchase Contract.  The balance for the cost of the kitten is due prior to the kitten leaving our home.

We accept cash, Venmo (friends only), and checks, if the check

can clear the bank prior to the kitten leaving our home.

-  Applicants may pick up the kitten or I will personally fly the kitten and meet you at an agreed upon airport for $800, plus expenses (airfare for me and for the kitten).

Our Maine Coon kittens and cats are like our children, so we are very careful and deliberate about our adoption process.

The most important terms of our Purchase Contract are:

1.  We guarantee the health of your cat as it pertains to hereditary/genetic diseases for one year after purchase.

2.  Your Thornfield Maine Coon must live indoors and not be allowed loose outside unless it is in a secure screened enclosure.

3.  Your Thornfield Maine Coon may never be declawed.

This is a cruel and very painful practice which we do not condone.  In the event that a cat should ever get loose outside, then it will have no way of protecting itself without claws.

4.  If your Thornfield Maine Coon is not already spayed or neutered, you must have them spayed or neutered before they are 8 months old and must provide proof of this procedure from your veterinarian.  You are not to breed them.

We will take legal action if this happens.

5.  If you ever find that you are unable to keep or care for your

Thornfield Maine Coon, we ask that you return him/her so we

can apply the same process for re-homing that we do for

initial adoptions.  We will not re-sale the cat, but charge the

new care-giver for care & boarding fees in the amount of

$5.00/day.  If you have someone in mind, such as a relative

or friend, we ask to be involved with that individual's verification

and their adoption process.  There will not be a fee for this

type of adoption as the cat will transfer directly from you to

its new home.  This allows us to follow our cats throughout

their lives and ensure they have wonderful care.
